|Job Title||Head Dive Coach|
The Highland Park Hurricanes Dive Team is now accepting resumes for an experienced head dive coach to lead our team for the 2019 summer season. Highland Park, a Division 6 team, will likely have approximately 30-40 divers of varying skill, based on last year’s numbers.
Applicant should have strong diving skills, preferably NVSL experience, and be able to impart safety, sportsmanship, and good teaching/coaching, instruction/demonstration in a fun, team spirited environment. Strong communication and organizational skills are a must.
Qualifications: Previous NVSL coaching experience is required (could have been at Asst. Coach level). Must possess extensive dive knowledge and leadership qualities. Must be able to teach and motivate kids of all ages.
Competitive college diving experience would be ideal but is not mandatory. Club dive a plus.
The Head Coach will be responsible for managing the assistant coaches and coaches-in-training who are usually divers on the HPP team. Must have CPR training and Certified Pool License.
The Coach must be able to attend all practices and meets: Practice begins the Monday after Memorial Day in the afternoons and switches to mornings after the FCPS school year ends. Afternoon times are approx. 4-6:30, mornings 7:30-10:45.
