Job Title Head Dive Coach
Job Description

The Annandale Red Tide Dive Team is looking for a head coach for the 2025 Summer Season!

 

Annandale competed in Division 7 last year. We will compete in division 8 this coming season We had around 20 divers last year with 4 divers making it to All Stars.

 

We are looking for someone who will be energetic, positive, and willing to focus on all levels of diving. The head coach will be assisted by two Coaches-In-Training.

 

Our evening practices begin the day after Memorial Day, Tuesday May 27, and run from 4:30 to 6:00 Monday through Friday. Once FCPS concludes their school year on June 11, practices will be in the mornings Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 11:30 am. Meets are held on Tuesday evenings. We also participate in Wally Martin 3M/Synchro tournament which will be held Wednesday, July 6.

Required Qualifications

Competitive diving experience

Certified in CPR/First Aid

Certified Pool Operator (Annandale is willing to pay for a CPO certification if you do not have it)

 

Desired Qualifications

Prior experience coaching

Experience developing dive workouts

Experience supervising and mentoring others

Experience diving or coaching in NVSL

 

Responsibilities

· Lead all practices for the Red Tide

· Attend and coach all meets and meet warmups to include

o 5 Official NVSL Dive Meets (Tuesday afternoons)

o Wally Martin 3M/Synchro Dive Tournament July 6

o Divisional Dive Meet July 20

o All Stars Dive Meet July 27

· Create workouts for all athletes based on age and ability

· Provide feedback on dives for developing divers

· Participate in developing dive team rosters for each meet

· Prepare dive sheets with each diver the week prior to a meet

· Attend setup/breakdown of home meets

· Review meet performance with the team the following week

· Coordinate entries for the NVSL divisional meet at the end of the season

· Attend team social events including Friday night pep rallies and the end of season award banquet (about one event per week)

· Mentor and train the assistant and junior coaches

· Maintain open communication with team representatives

· Participate in an end of season review
