The Ilda Clippers Dive Team is now accepting resumes for a head dive coach for the 2026 summer season. The Clippers are a Division 8 team and typically have 10-15 divers from ages 5-18. Our goal is to create a safe, structured, and fun environment for the kids, who range in diving skills from beginners to year-round club and high school divers. The coach must be adept at providing positive feedback and fostering a love for diving.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• -Plan and execute practices typically scheduled M-F mornings (8-10AM) and one evening (typically Thursday 5-6PM) between the last day of school and first week of August. There will also be afternoon practices (4-6PM) during the last two weeks of school, starting the day after Memorial Day.
• -Enhance the ability of athletes to complete basic dives (Forward, Backward, and Inward).
• -Help develop a love of diving in kids ages 5 through 18.
• -Manage an Assistant Coach.Prepare for, attend, and coach at all meets, including but not limited to: dual meets, the Divisional Dive Championships, the NVSL All-Star Championship Meet, the Synchro Dive Meet, and Wally Martin Dive Meet.
• -Attend the NVSL coaches training clinic.
• -Attend a dive parent/caregiver pre-season (virtual) meeting and other meetings with team reps upon request.
• -Complete all NVSL-required training, including, but not limited to, SafeSport and Concussion training.

Qualifications:

• -Past experience in competitive diving such as high school, summer league, competitive club, or college diving experience. Some coaching experience is preferred.
• -A deep passion for diving, a love of working with kids, and the ability to lead and instruct divers of all ages and skill levels.
• -Ability to clearly and calmly communicate with athletes, coaching staff, parents, and team representatives.
• -Current CPR certification
• -Lifeguard and pool operators certification is a plus, but not required.
